As a person intimately acquainted with the Salt Lake County attorney's office, I was stunned and deeply saddened by the recent action taken against Bud Ellett.
I have found Mr. Ellett to be not only a caring, helpful person to the other employees of the office and courts but to be highly respected by attorneys inside and outside the county attorney's office and highly respected by the public. He would take time to help anyone.His knowledge of the law and expertise of legal matters are real assets to the county and above reproach. I have always felt that his candor with the law was exceeded only by his kindness to all people.
It's a sad day.
