The Boston Bruins acquired right wing C.J. Young from the Calgary Flames for left wing Brent Ashton. Young, a former Salt Lake Golden Eagle, had three goals and two assists in 28 games for the Flames this season. The 32-year-old Ashton, joining his ninth team in 14 NHL seasons, had two goals and two assists in 26 games for the Bruins.
