Our kind loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Pearl Louise Draper Thornton, 69, has returned to her Father in Heaven. She passed away February 18, 1993 following a courageous struggle with Alzheimers disease in Mission Viejo, California.

Pearl was born on October 28, 1923 in Bountiful, Utah, the seventh child of Mamie Wilhelmina and Asa J. Draper. She attended Forest Elementary, Irving Jr. High, and graduated from South High School in 1940. Pearl loved her work in the medical field and gave many years of service as a hospital volunteer. Always active in civic affairs, she dedicated time to the PTA, Red Cross, Cancer Society, voter registration and many other worthy projects. Adventurous and creative, Pearl used advanced computer technology to establish a successful typesetting business.Preceded in death by her husband George and three brothers. Pearl is survived by her son Stephen and his wife Coleen Thornton, Mission Viejo, California; daughters, Joyce and husband Benjamin Brown, Salt Lake City; Diane and husband Wayne Everett, Midvale; and Linda and husband Richard Freer, Kaysville; sisters, Amanda Thorpe, Mamie Miller and Dorothy Blomquist; brothers, David Draper and William Draper; 11 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pearl's compassion and love for people, quick sense of humor and zest for life touched and endeared her to all.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Thursday, February 25, 1993 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call on Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
