Mark Golden Preece, age 91, died February 24, 1993, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born January 25, 1902, in Cove, Utah, son of Mark Henry and Charlotte Maria Gregory Preece. He married Violeet Hyer on October 3, 1923, in the Logan LDS Temple.The couple resided in Pocatello, Idaho for 45 years before moving to Salt Lake City. During his early years in Pocatello, he formed an orchestra and his group provided music for local dances and other civic events.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in Pocatello, Idaho as a machinist and Federal Inspector. An active member of the LDS Church, he served in many positions which included Superintendent of the Ward Sunday School, 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric, and was a temple ordinance worker.
He and his wife served as Ward Coordinators, in YWMIA, and in the Genealogy Workshop.
Survived by his wife, SLC.; a son, Dr. Richard G. Preece (wife, Nadra), Vista, California; a daughter, Ann Joe Lake, Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Geneva P. Hill, Sandy, Utah.
Graveside services will be held Friday, February 26th, 12 Noon, Lewiston Cemetery, Lewiston, Utah. Viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Thursday, 6-8 p.m.
