Ernest John Stopper, age 82, passed way February 25, 1993 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born October 12, 1910 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to John Adam Stopper and Otillie A. Belter. Married Mildred Greenhagen August 20, 1945. She passed away June 10, 1967. Married Lola D. Davis April 22, 1974 in Las Vegas, Nevada.An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Aleutian Islands from 1942 to 1945 when he was honorably discharged. Member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survived by his wife, Lola, Salt Lake City; step-daughter, Wanita Contreres, California; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Stopper; two sisters, Ardena Sommerhalder and Lorona Cowles, all of Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 1993 at 1 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1030 So. 500 East. Friends may call Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South and on Monday 1 hour prior to services at the church. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 So. Redwood Road. Funeral Directors: Deseret Mortuary.
