Clayton W. Kirkham, age 90, died February 2, 1993 at his home in Mesa.

Born October 15, 1902 in Lehi, Utah, to Joseph and Sarah Elizabeth Meakin Kirkham. Married Margaret Smith, January 2, 1934 in Bountiful, Utah. She died December 8, 1992. Graduate of Westminster College in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. Professional musician for many years, having his own bands and was owner of the Pine Lake (also known as Montmatre) night club in Salt Lake in the 1930's. He was a talented organist. His employments include manager of San Francisco office of a South Pacific mining company; accountant and controller of Nevada Mining Company; manager of Commercial Hotel, Elko, Nevada; salesman for Dahnken Jewelry in Salt Lake. After retiring (about four times), he went to work for Ross Farnsworth Construction of Mesa. Although they had no children, Clayton indicated that he and Margaret would have welcomed them had they been so blessed.Survived by sisters-in-law, Claire Kirkham, Sacramento, California; Florence Davis, Newbury Park, California; three cousins, Robert B. Meakin, Huntington Beach, California; Harold D. Meakin, West Jordan, Utah; and Beverly May Meakin Wright, Salt Lake City; two nieces, Elaine Condie, Minneapolis, Minn.; Phillis Riley, Mt. Pleasant, Utah; and Michael McAfferty, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services in Mesa with graveside services at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue & N Street, Saturday, February 6th, at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Saturday, 12 - 12:45 p.m.
