SkyWest Inc., the holding company for SkyWest Airlines, Aviation Services West and National Parks Transportation, has moved into a new headquarters at 444 S. River Road.

The 63,000-square-foot building consolidates all of the company's offices including human resources, operations, maintenance, finance, customer service, marketing and administration.Eric Christensen, the company's vice president for planning, said the building was designed specifically for SkyWest. It has a diesel generator that can be used to operate equipment so airplanes can be dispatched in the event of a power failure.

Located on seven acres of land, the building accommodates 140 employees now and has room for 250 employees in future expansion. The company owns 14 adjacent acres that will be developed into a research park.

Valentiner and Crane, a Salt Lake architectural firm, designed the $3.7 million building. Bud Mahas was the general contractor and completed the project on time and within budget.
