Carl L. Sargent passed away Friday, February 26, 1993 at his home in St. George at the age of 63.

He was born January 6, 1930 to Lyle and Grace Sargent in Hoytsville, Utah. He married Joan May Ridge on September 23, 1950 in Hoytsville.Surviving are his wife; two sons, Paul (Sheryl), Gale (Star); two daughters, Sally (Grant) Piercy, Carla Sargent; five grandchildren, Chalis (Troy) Abelhouzen, Jennifer, Jasmine, Crystal; and his pride and joy grandson, Gregory Carl "G.C."; one brother, Keith; and one sister, LaRue Selby.

Carl was a highly decorated veteran from the Korean War. He retired from the State Road Dept. of Engineering. He was a very proud, honest, and successful sheep, mink and cattle rancher. He was a co-owner of East Hoytsville Range Co. He was a member of the LDS Church, Lion's Club, and American Legion.

Dad was very proud of his family tree and loved his heritage, especially time at the ranch with his livestock and being at the Sargent Lakes. During the past years, Dad and Mom did what they loved best, built a second home in St. George with a spectacular yard and enjoyed their retired time together. We'll miss the memories, Dad.
