Drazen Petrovic scored 29 points as the New Jersey Nets handed Phoenix its worst loss of the season, 124-93, Saturday night in Phoenix.
The Nets won their fifth straight game and snapped the Suns' six-game winning streak. It was only the Suns' third defeat in 29 home games this season.The Nets, who won in Phoenix for the first time since 1990, shot 55 percent from the field and made half of their 16 attempts from 3-point range.
Derrick Coleman and Rumeal Robinson each scored 23 points for New Jersey, which led by as many as 40 points in the second half.
Kevin Johnson led Phoenix with 23 points, while Charles Barkley was held to 15.
Petrovic scored 15 points and Coleman 14 as New Jersey raced to a 41-22 lead in the first quarter. The Nets shot 68 percent from the field in the period.
Heat 106, SuperSonics 102
At Miami, Grant Long scored 23 points as the Miami Heat beat Seattle for its 10th consecutive home victory.
Bimbo Coles added 18 points and Steve Smith 16 for Miami, which has won 10 of its last 12 games overall. Seattle has lost three of four on its current road trip.
A basket by Ricky Pierce and a free throw by Shawn Kemp gave Seattle a 100-97 lead with 1:44 left.
Coles then made a driving basket and, following a Seattle turnover, Smith hit a layup that put Miami ahead 101-100 with 28.7 seconds remaining.
Eddie Johnson, who led Seattle with 27 points, hit a baseline jumper to give Seattle a 102-101 lead with 23.6 seconds remaining. But Smith converted a three-point play with 13:5 seconds left to put Miami ahead for good.
Spurs 108, Trail Blazers 99
At San Antonio, Antoine Carr scored a season-high 27 points and David Robinson had 19 rebounds as San Antonio defeated Portland.
Sean Elliott scored 24 points and Robinson added 23 for the Spurs, who have won 17 of their last 18 home games.
Cliff Robinson scored 14 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter for Portland, which has lost seven of its last 13 games. Terry Porter added 26 points for the Trail Blazers.
A 15-2 run by San Antonio gave the Spurs a 78-61 lead with 1:41 left in the third period, but Portland then scored 11 straight points to close to 78-72.
Dale Ellis, who scored 13 of his 18 points in the final period, hit a 3-pointer to put San Antonio ahead 100-92 and the Blazers got no closer than seven points the rest of the way.
Kings 122, Mavericks 94
At Sacramento, Calif., Lionel Simmons continued his resurgence with 24 points as Sacramento handed Dallas its 18th straight loss.
Simmons, recently mired in a slump, made 11 of 13 shots from the field and both of his free throws. In his last two games, he is 21 of 34 from the field.
Walt Williams scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half and grabbed 10 rebounds for Sacramento, which never trailed and led 88-68 after three quarters.
Terry Davis scored 21 points for Dallas, which is 0-29 on the road this season. If the Mavs continue their current pace, they will end up with the worst record in NBA history.
