The Uintah Elementary School PTA is seeking alumni to write short passages about their time at the school to be included in a history of the 75-year-old school.

The building will be demolished due to structural problems and is being replaced by a new school nearby at 1300 South and 1500 East.A few well-known alumni include former U.S. Sen. Jake Garn, former Deseret News publisher Wendell Ashton, educator and legislator Ester Landa and Elder Marvin J. Ashton of the Council of the Twelve of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Alumni should send their names, telephone numbers, years when they attended the school, what they have been doing since then and a brief description of favorite memories or humorous anecdotes of Uintah. The PTA is especially interested in knowing the whereabouts of other Uintah alumni.

Send information to Uintah School, 1227 S. 1500 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84105. For information, call Karamea Edwards at 583-9461.
