Cathrinus Nicolaas Schaap, 84, died March 23, 1993 at his home in Salt Lake City.
Born April 25, 1908 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Cornelis Johannes and Johanna Christina Hellingman Schaap. He married Maria Christina Beyer, March 19, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Besides The Netherlands and Salt Lake City, he and his wife lived in Los Angeles, Calif. for many years. He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served three missions and as a bishop.He is survived by his wife, Maria, of Salt Lake City; a daughter, Marilyn and Val Love, Denver, Colorado; two sons, Robert and Mitsie Schaap, Salt Lake City; Kenneth and Gail Schaap, Chicago, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Dalebout, Huntington Harbor, Calif; and a brother Gerardus Schaap, Den Helder, Netherlands.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 29, 1993 at 12 noon, Emigration LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 760 South 700 East. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Church Monday morning one hour prior to services. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
