The Salt Lake Golden Eagles started their 13-day road trip off on a sour note Wednesday with a loss to the Phoenix Roadrunners, 7-3. Worse yet is the fact that the Eagles have now lost six of their last seven games.
The Eagles now head for San Diego for two games with the Gulls on Friday and Saturday.Phoenix scored early in the first period. Salt Lake answered 10 minutes later with a goal by Shawn Heaphy from 15-feet out. Four goals by Phoenix in the second period, however, buried the Salt Lakers.
David Struch hit from 10-feet out in the second and Todd Gillingham got credit on a deflected goals for the Eagles in the third. Salt Lake goalie Jason Muzzatti faced 38 shots on goal.
