Louise Sailer Gold, 91, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away of natural causes on March 5, 1993.
She was born November 3, 1901 in Raitzhain, Thuringen, Germany, the daughter of Kunigunda and Johann Sailer. She immigrated to Utah in May 1927. She married Helaman M. Gold on May 1, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died May 2, 1975. She was also preceded in death by a son, John, three grandchildren, her parents, two sisters, and a brother.As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a branch organist, a Sunday School teacher, primary teacher, Relief Society secretary, genealogical name extractor and visiting teacher.
She is survived by her sons, Lawrence (Gus), Brookings, Oregon; Glenn, Bountiful; Leslie, Brookings, Oregon; Merrold, Salt Lake City, Donald, Centerville; Robert, Pocatello, Idaho; David, Morgan, Utah; and daughters, Lucille McKay, Mesa, Arizona; and Margaret Waken, North Glenn, Colorado; also nieces, Karren Burr, West Jordan; Nancy Dymock, Salt Lake City; Susan Brusik, West Valley City; 44 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10, 1993 at 12 noon at the Centerville 12th Ward, 610 North Rowland Way (100 East), Centerville, with Bishop Melvin Kleinman conducting. Friends may call Tuesday, March 9, at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 4th East, from 6-8 p.m. and at the church prior to the services from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City.
