Maybe there's something strange in the moon over Miami. The Heat can't lose.

On Sunday, the Heat won its sixth straight game, a 114-99 decision over the Indiana Pacers, a team record. It was also the eighth consecutive victory at home for the Heat, another franchise record.Why the sudden run?

Miami is pounding the boards, hitting its shots and handling the ball intelligently.

Against the Pacers, Miami matched a club record by making just six turnovers. It also was the ninth straight game, and 15th of the last 17, in which Miami has outrebounded its opponent.

"They did a great job of rebounding and killed us on the boards," Indiana center Rik Smits said.

There also was Harold Miner, who scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter.

"Miner played terrific," Heat coach Kevin Loughery said. "He was under control. He was coming up with the big plays and the big baskets."

Miner hit 5 of 6 shots from the field and 7 of 8 free throws.

"It felt good to be out there down the stretch," he said. "Everyone was involved. We're confident down the stretch."

Celtics 96, Cavaliers 88

Reggie Lewis, returning from a back injury that sidelined him for two games, scored 17 points to lead the Celtics to their sixth victory in seven games and eighth straight at home. Cleveland, which had won seven of its last nine on the road, was led by Brad Daugherty's 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Magic 112, Clippers 95

Nick Anderson scored 36 points and Shaquille O'Neal added 23 and 15 rebounds to carry the Magic at home.

Pistons 98, Bucks 91

Joe Dumars scored 35 points and Dennis Rodman had 25 rebounds to help Detroit end a 12-game road losing streak. Eric Murdock paced Milwaukee with 25 points.

Trail Blazers 113, Warriors 96

Rod Strickland's 18 points and 14 assists sparked the Trail Blazers in Oakland. Portland won for only the third time in eight games. Golden State, held to a season-low 36 points in the first half, slipped farther from playoff contention with its fourth loss in five games. Victor Alexander's season-high 23 points led the Warriors.

Hornets 105, Lakers 101

Alonzo Mourning scored 27 points and Larry Johnson 20 as Charlotte overcame a 20-point first-half deficit to win for the first time in six visits to the Forum. The Hornets beat the Lakers for first time in 12 tries. James Worthy led Los Angeles with 25 points.
