The University of Utah and BYU dominated the WAC women's postseason awards which were announced Monday.

Utah's Mikki Kane-Barton was named the WAC Player of the Year. Kane-Barton, a senior forward, is the league's top scorer (20.8 points per game) and rebounder (8.8 average). In addition, she became the only player in the history of the women's WAC to make the first team all three years of the league's existence.Joining Kane-Barton on the 10-member All-WAC Team were Utah's Susana Tauteoli and BYU's Debbie Dimond, Thais Kidd and Tomika Young. BYU's Jeanie Wilson was named WAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Cougars to a 13-1 league championship mark and 21-4 overall record.

"I was thrilled we had three players named to the all-conference team," Wilson said. "I'm especially happy (point guard) Tomika Young's contributions to our team didn't go unnoticed even though she's not a big point scorer. She does so many other things well that she makes us better as a team."

Dimond led the Cougars in scoring (14.6) and rebounding (7.8). Kidd is the team's second-leading scorer at 13.7 but led the team in WAC play at 15.6. Young averaged 6.4 assists and 3.3 steals per game and also was the team's second-leading rebounder (5.7). Utah's Tauteoli ranked fourth among WAC scorers at 15.0 and sixth in rebounding at 7.1.
