You might think Robert Redford doesn't have to worry about his looks.
But every once in a while someone isn't satisfied with the actor's appearance. For instance, when he was making "The Great Gatsby," the director wanted Redford to dye his blond hair black."The studio kept saying, `You've got to have dark hair.' And I said, `Did you read the book? Go find me the part where it says what color Gatsby's hair is! It's not there!' " Redford told the May issue of Details magazine. "Fitzgerald never said Gatsby wasn't good-looking, but the studio and the critics never read the book."
If he was considered too handsome for "Gatsby," he had the opposite problem in "Havana," which left some critics complaining Redford's looks had faded.
Critics, by the way, have slammed Redford's new movie, "Indecent Proposal," but that isn't scaring away moviegoers.
