Lance Dennis Stevens, age 19, died March 31, 1993.
Lance was born February 1, 1974 in Salt Lake City to Dennis and Janet Marie Bigler Stevens.Lance graduated from Uintah High School in 1991. While at Uintah, he lettered in basketball, baseball, football, received the Academic Athlete of the Year, and was president of the Seminary Council. He was an excellent student; excelled in music; spoke German and Spanish, and was an avid LA Dogers and Dallas Cowboys fan. At the time of his death, Lance was attending Ricks College on Leadership and Academic Scholarships, and had received his mission call to the Portugal, Porto Mission. He was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. "He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him."
Lance is survived by his parents, Dennis and Janet Stevens of Vernal; a brother, Blake, and a sister, Kathryn, Vernal; grandparents, Earl and Ramona Stevens of Oakley; and Max and Connie Bigler of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 3, 1993, at 10 a.m., in the Davis 3rd Ward Chapel, 4080 South 2500 East, Vernal. Friends may call at the Hullinger-Jolley Funeral Home, Friday evening from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30-10 a.m. at the church. Burial in the Stevens Family Cemetery in Oakley, Ut. at 4 p.m. under the direction of the Hullinger-Jolley Funeral Home.
