Jordan Edmond Rasmussen, 88, of Salt Lake City, Utah, died April 28, 1993, at his home, of causes incident to age.

He was born October 18, 1904, in Sanford, Colorado, a son of Andrew and Martha Brady Rasmussen. He married Mary Jane Sowards onOctober 4, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He attended schools in Sanford and Manassa, Colorado; and graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Jordan retired from the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Industries after 36 years of service. Member of the Utah Veterinarian's Assoc. Active High Priest in the LDS Church, he served faithfully over the years in many callings, including a mission with "Mamie" in 1974-75 to Guatemala. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be immensely missed.Survived by his wife Mary Jane "Mamie", of Salt Lake City; children, J. Keith (and Beverley) Rasmussen, Ogden, Dr. Donald L. (and Carmen) Rasmussen, Sophia, WV, Mary (and Bill) Renner, Tacoma, Wash., Gloris (and Don) Peterson, Prattsville, AL, Jean (and Deanna) Rasmussen, Pleasant View, and Joan (and Ted) White and Dr. Kent (and Anne) Rasmussen, both of Salt Lake City; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; a brother, Dr Warren E. Rasmussen, Ogden; and a sister, Ada Shawcroft, Lajara, CO. Preceded in death by a grandson, Scott; a brother; and six sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 1st, 11 a.m., at the Kenwood Ward, 1765 East 3080 Ssouth, with Bishop Joseph R. Anderson officiating. Friends may call Friday, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 S. 2300 E., and at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
