What becomes an anti-fur protester most? How about an ensemble resembling road kill?
Women in blood-red paint and animal traps rolled over and played dead outside a Bob Mackie fashion show Tuesday.Inside, Mackie - whose creations have adorned movie stars - displayed fur fashions.
About 100 fur industry workers jeered the protest by nine demonstrators in all.
Instead of fashion's two-cheek air kiss, a man in a tie greeted a protester with a shove. Another man, a furrier, punched a New York Post photographer's camera, and a fight broke out. The furrier was charged with assault.
Outside, five barefoot women reclined on the sidewalk with red paint poured over their legs. Their summery frocks were topped with ratty furs stained with red paint. The women slid their feet into animal traps.
