THE GRADUATION
Date and number of graduates: On Wednesday, May 26, 622 students will graduate from Orem High.
Theme: "We're not endeavoring to get ahead of others but to surpass ourselves."
Student graduation speakers: Rachelle Davidson, Jenny Cobb, Kristin Fakler, Katrina Skousen, J. Colby Clark and Shaylene Clark.
THE CLASS OF '93
Senior class officers: Jill Martin, president; Jacob Walker, vice president; Michelle Nielsen, sec-retary; Todd Phillips, historian.
Student body class officers: Mark Preston, president; Brigham Ashton, vice president; Anne Denney, secretary; Rob Stringham, technical director; Lorien Bell, publicity director; Jennifer Adams, historian; Ryan Radebaugh, program chairman; and Seth Johnson, business manager.
Class of '93's gift to the school: The senior class put lettering and pictures of the school mascot on the gymnasium windows.
Greatest accomplishment of the Class of '93:
Ryan Radebaugh, program chair-man: "The ability to make it through the school year and stay friends and stick up for one another when things are going bad."
Graduates' hopes for the future:
Sam D'Arc: "I just hope that everything I've learned in my education so far will help me do the best I can in college and beyond. I think it will."
Jill Anderson: "I want to become a famous dancer. For everyone, I hope there will be one race - the human race - and that we'll set aside color, religion and all that stuff."
Shalane Bybee: "When I go to college, I hope I can specialize in psychology. I really want to learn more about everything, experience living on my own and have success with that." What the principal says about the Class of '93:
"This class has been one of the brightest as far as scholarships," said Principal John Childs.
"We have five national merit scholars, and over $1 million in scholarships. All along they've been a really good, smart class."
