Richard Parry Winder, 59, died June 9, 1993 at his home in Simi Valley, California of cancer.
Mr. Winder served as a bishop, stake president, and regional representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a board member of California State Teachers Retirement System, past president of Georgia Chapter American Cancer Society. Boy Scout leader, Sunday School teacher."Devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Loved by all."
Served during the Korean War as a United States Marine. Educated in Utah schools, he was a member of Sigma CHi Fraternity.
Mr. Winder was born in Chicago, Illinois July 5, 1933, the son of Miles Shirl and Parthenia Parry Winder. Married Rose Marie Morelly, July 15, 1955; marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie; two sons and one daughter, Richard Parry Winder II, Fallon, Nev.; Michael Charles Winder, Salt Lake City; Kathryn Ann Winder Parry, Santa Clarita, Calif.; eight grandchildren; a brother and a sister, Dr. Miles Shirl Winder, Jr., West Allenhurst, New Jersey; Mrs. E. Garn (Nanette) Osguthorpe, Salt Lake City.
Services Tuesday, June 15, in the LDS Sinaloa Chapel, Simi Valley, California. Interment at Valley Oaks Memorial Park, Westlake, California.
