Raymond Allen James, our beloved husband and father, 78, passed away June 22, 1993.

Born August 2, 1914 in Union, Utah to John William and Chloe Burnham James. Married Florence Catherine Burlando, September 9, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Attended California Institute of Technology. Physicist for the Chrysler Corporation. He was in charge of the guidance control for the first successful U. S. satellite launch. Served in many church callings including bishop in the Detroit Stake and New Orleans Stake. He was loved by his many friends and family.Survivors: wife, two sons, Raymond A. James, Jr. and John V. James; daughter, Elizabeth C. (Lisa) Norton; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Jay B. James, Pershing James and sister, Louise Kimball.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 noon, June 26, 1993 in the Murray 23rd LDS Ward Chapel, 755 East Three Fountains Drive. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, Friday from 6-8:30 p.m. and at the ward Saturday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery. Family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to BYU Aspen Grove, LDS Foundation, 1501 No. Canyon Road, Provo, UT 84604.
