Utah art educator and artist J. (James) Roman Andrus, 85, died June 23, 1993, in Provo.
Andrus taught painting, printmaking, drawing and art education for 32 years at Brigham Young University, where he served as art department chairman and received a distinguished service award in 1968.He also attended Otis Art Institute, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Art Students League in New York and Columbia Teachers College and received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado in 1958.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Pleasant View LDS I Ward, 650 E. Stadium Lane, Provo. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 E. Center Street, and one hour prior to services Monday. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.
