NO ONE CAN ACCUSE ACTOR OF BEING TYPECAST IN ROLE

It's a stretch for Joe Lando to play Byron Sully, the rough-hewn, emotionally wounded Tarzan of the Prairie on "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman."

Sully is a sun-bronzed creature who loves the land. Lando is pale beneath the heavy makeup and hates having dirt under his fingernails."That's one of my pet peeves," Lando says in the July 17th issue of TV Guide. "It drives me nuts."

While Sully lives in harmony with nature, Lando is allergic to almost everything, from grasses and pollens to the dog that plays his pet wolf.

Sully goes bareback with ease and throws his tomahawk only when necessary. Lando, 30, needs to ice his back after a ride.
