Utah State University and the LDS Church have agreed to a land exchange that will allow the school to move its Botanical Garden from Farmington to Kaysville.

USU President George Emert announced the swap on Monday, explaining that the church will trade 61.9 acres in Kaysville for two parcels in Logan and one in Farmington.Emert said the USU Botanical Garden must be moved due to a state project to widen U.S. 89 near the present garden site.

The agreement was the fruit of nearly six months of negotiations between the school and church, he said.
