Lester Gillespie Reese, 74, died peacefully on July 18, 1993.

Born July 27, 1918 in Salt Lake City to Lon Woolley and Emma Gillespie Reese. Married Ann Stoddard, January 11, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by President David O. McKay.Graduate of U. of U. Served five years in the Air Force as a Major. Managed J.C. Penny Stores for 35 years in Kansas, Colorado, Texas, and Utah. Past president and strong supporter of both Sugarhouse Rotary and Chamber of Commerce, serving as executive secretary of the Chamber for five years. Honored and respected civic leader. Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as bishop in Texas, Kansas, and Holladay 22nd Ward, Utah. Also served in stake presidencies of Cheyenne and Mt. Olympus stakes. His family was the greatest love of his life.

Survived by wife, Ann, and children, Linda and Jack Linder of Austin, Texas; Brad and Carolyn, and Jeffrey and Eva, all Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Mildred Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 22, at 12 noon, Mt. Olympus Stake Center, 3862 East Oakview Dr. (4275 So.), with viewing Wednesday, July 21, 7-9 p.m., Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 So. 200 East, and 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.

Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
