Police say gang members are responsible for a drive-by shooting that wounded a man as he walked through his kitchen.

Harvey Miller said the sound of gunfire woke him early Tuesday. A bullet fired through his kitchen window struck him in the leg."I got knocked to the floor," Miller said. "I didn't know what it was, it wasn't hurting at first."

When he pulled up his pants leg, he saw a wound in his thigh "the size of a quarter," he said.

Miller, 41, is expected to be released from Holy Cross Hospital Wednesday.

Sixteen shots were fired at two homes and a car during the shootings, which occurred in Salt Lake City's northwest side, a police report said.

Authorities say there have been at least 36 reported drive-by shootings in Salt Lake County this year.
