Baker James Paxton, age 72, passed away at home July 29, 1993 of natural causes.
Born March 13, 1921 in Beaver, Utah to Wallace B. and Viola Baker Paxton. Married Vauna Leany December 15, 1942. Veteran of World War II, proud to have served Patton's 3rd Army. Lived in Salt Lake City since 1945.
Employed by Phil Baker Insulation Company for 24 years, later at the Utah State Liquor Commission, retiring in 1982. Loved hunting, sports, was an outstanding athlete. Former member of the Utah State Umpires Association. Member of the LDS Church.
Survived by wife; sons, Ronald B., Perry, Utah; Marvin L. (Vickie), Cedar City, Utah; daughter, Lisa, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren, Adam, Tami, Jason, Brett, Amy, Bryan, Christie and Scott. Also survived by a sister, Dorothy (Jeff) Lee, Lehi, Utah; brothers, Wallace P. (Ruth), Grand Terrace, Calif.; Arnold D., Arthur W., (Maryann), and Norman I., all of Salt Lake City. Funeral services to be held Tuesday, August 3, 1993, 12 noon at the East Millcreek 7th Ward Chapel, 3408 South Celeste Way (3175 East). Friends may call Monday evening, 7-9 p.m. at the Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East.
