David Lee Chandler, 54, died August 13, 1993 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born October 9, 1938 in New Plymouth, Idaho to Paul Whitney and Zola Eliza Kimball Chandler. He married Jennett Smithson December 21, 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple.He was a professor at BYU for 23 years and received a PhD from Tulane University. An active member of the LDS Church, he served a mission in the northwestern states, and as branch and district president in Bogota, Colombia. He was a wonderful father and friend and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of Highland; four sons and five daughters: Mrs. Greg (Jill) Johnson, West Valley; Brad, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Gaylen (Heidi) Ware, Provo; Lance, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Penii, Huntington Beach, Calif; Grant, Orem; Ginger, Salt Lake; Carrie, Ogden; Scott, Highland; one grandchild; his mother of New Plymouth, Idaho; a brother, Donald, of San Diego; two sisters; Margie Hendry of Brigham City and Carolyn Morrell of Boise, Idaho.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 2 p.m. in the Highland 9th Ward, 4679 West Wasatch Dr. (11000 North). Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church one hour prior to services.
