Patrick Pitman, 43, and his wife, Becky, 39, died August 16, 1993 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Pat was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and Becky was born in San Diego, California. Both graduated from Orange Glen High School in Escondido, California. They were married in 1973 and had two children, Elizabeth and Travis.The couple were partners in the Ranch Motel in West Yellowstone along with other family members. Known as "family people," both Pat and Becky loved Yellowstone second only to their two teenage children.
Pat served two hitches with the Army during the Vietnam era, posted stateside at Homestead, Florida, San Diego and Fort Ord. They were former residents of West Valley City and before joining the Ranch, Pat was vice-president of Associated Business Products in Salt Lake City.
The couple is survived by their two children; Pat's parents, Avis and Elwood Pitman of Arizona; a brother, Don and his wife, Sue Danielson of West Yellowstone; nephews, Matt, Josh and Donald Danielson III of West Yellowstone; Becky's brother, Ronnie Kerns of Reno, Nevada; and her sister, Kathy Luster of Georgia.
Services are planned for Tuesday, August 24 at 2 p.m. at the Community Protestant Church in West Yellowstone. The couple will be buried at Fir Ridge north of West Yellowstone.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Pitman Children Fund at First Security Bank in West Yellowstone.
