A California man was killed Saturday when his car crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another car head-on.
Five others remained hospitalized Monday.
Killed was:Sichul Won, 63, Bellflower, Calif.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Won was driving south on U.S. 89 near Hatch, Garfield County, when his car hit a northbound vehicle driven by Peter R. Goudman, 34, of Schoten, Belgium, just before 3 p.m.
Goudman remained in serious condition Monday at LDS Hospital. Passengers in Won's vehicle, Young Ja Won, 42, and Chi-Chum Younga Won, 59, both of Bellflower, were listed in serious condition Monday at LDS Hospital; and Backun Won, 46, Toronto, Canada, was listed in stable condition at Valley View Memorial Hospital in Cedar City.
Josef Goudman, 60, and Guido Robeyns, 34, both of Belgium, were treated at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguich. Robeyns was released and Goudman was listed in stable condition at the hospital Monday.
All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts, and the crash was still under investigation Monday, a UHP dispatcher said.
