Richard Leland Barrett, 70, died September 26, 1993 in his home in Provo of cancer.

Born November 26, 1922 in Pocatello, Idaho, to William Leland and Ethel Mae Stinger Barrett. He attended school in Pocatello and completed his higher education in accounting in Long Beach, California. He married Rhea Riley on January 7, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.He and his family resided both in Southern and Northern California. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many leadership positions. Since retirement, he served as an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple and was serving in the Provo, Utah Mission when he became ill.

He is survived by his wife, Rhea; son, R. Bruce Barrett and wife Tyra; and three daughters, Mrs. Ronald Chowen (Elaine); Mrs. James Daniels (Carol Anne); and Mrs. Ken Wright (Kathi); brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Barrett; Mr. and Mrs. Allan Barrett; sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Howe (Margaret); and Mrs. Mildred McArthur; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 30, 12 noon, at the Grandview 9th Ward, 1555 North 1350 West, Provo. Friends may call 10 a.m. to time of services at the church. Interment in Bountiful City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary.
