The Utah Senate confirmed unanimously Wednesday the appointment of appeals Judge Leonard Russon to the Utah Supreme Court.

Russon, 60, is the associate presiding judge on the Utah Court of Appeals. He was appointed to the appeals court in 1990. Before that, he served as a 3rd District judge. Former Gov. Norm Bangerter appointed him to the bench in 1984.
