Southwest Airlines said its one-day advance purchase "fare sale," first announced Sept. 29, has been extended for an extra eight days.
Southwest is offering one-day advance purchase fares with an average 50-percent savings on what it describes as its "already low everyday fares" to most markets in every city Southwest serves.Originally, the tickets had to be bought before Oct. 13 with travel to be completed by Dec. 15. The purchase deadline has been moved up to midnight Oct. 21, but travel still must be completed by Dec. 15.
"Customer reaction to our recent fare moves has simply been outstanding," said Dave Ridley, vice president of marketing and sales. "These fares are clearly the best travel value being offered by any airline today."
The tickets are nonrefundable but are reusable and may be upgraded. Seating is limited, he said.
Southwest also said its "fun fares" promotion, in which tickets must be bought 21 days in advance, are now a permanent part of the Dallas-based airline's fare structure. Ridley said "fun fares" also offer "at least 50 percent savings."
