Ray Sidney Stromberg died October 11, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The son of Carl Eugene Stromberg and Annie Selina Lashbrook, he was born September 19, 1912, in Geneva, Idaho. He married the late Maude James, June 13, 1932 in Salt Lake City, and after her demise in '71, married Violet Clark Beers June 24, 1972. She died in January, 1990.Lawrence was raised in Huntsville, Ogden and Salt Lake City, graduating from West High School, Class of '30. During the '50's he completed several courses at the University of Utah.
He was employed at the American Foundry for 34 years, as a molder, foreman, and superintendent there. He retired in 1974.
In 1947, he moved his family from Salt Lake City to Bluffdale, Utah, where he built a home with his own hands. He was a member of the LDS Church, the Bluffdale Lions Club, and Moose Lodge #259 in Salt Lake City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and travel.
Survivors are a daughter, Joanne (Mrs. Robert McNamara) of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and three sons, J. Lawrence "Larry" (Kathy) and Carl Richard (Judy) Stromberg, both Sandy; Robert Eugene (Lucy) Stromberg, of St. George. He has 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Sandberg of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Estelle Granieri Ruddell, San Francisco. Preceded in death by brother, Harold Stromberg and a granddaughter, Jennifer.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 1994 at Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, Salt Lake. Viewing one hour prior to services. Lake Hills Cemetery at 10101 South State in Sandy is the interment site.
