George Cole Sanborn, age 84, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 1994 in Salt Lake City.

Born September 7, 1910 in Astoria, Oregon to Frank Holway and Lucille Cole Sanborn. Married Madaline Christensen; she preceded him in death following 46 years of marriage. He later married Rosalyn Godfrey Craig. He was a member of the LDS Church and represented Owens-Illinois Glass Company from 1931 until he retired in 1975. He was district manager of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and traveled extensively throughout the area. He was very well liked by the people he worked with. He was secretary to the Intermountain Bottlers Association for 22 years and was an active golfing member of the Salt Lake Country Club. He loved outdoor life and driving his car. He did volunteer work with the Salvation Army, The Blind Center Library and Bridges Program at Hawthorne School.Survived by his wife, Rosalyn; a daughter, Suzanne Sanborn Smith; stepson, T. Jared Craig; and a granddaughter, Nicole Carlson Baez. Preceded in death by an only sister, Jane Atwater.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 1994, 12 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Richmond, Cache County, Utah Cemetery.
