Dean C. Martin passed away at home on October 30, 1994 after an extended illness.

Born October 4, 1929 in Oakley, Idaho to Ethel Jane Critchfield and William Parley Martin. Married Mattie Richardson September 8, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Dean was a lifetime, active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities and positions in the church.

Employed by the Federal Aviation Administration for 30 years; retired in 1990. Educated at the University of Utah; bachelors and masters degrees from Westminster College.

Dean developed a special relationship with his grandson who brought him joy and happiness for the 10 years they were together. Dean's influence and friendship extended to his numerous nephews and nieces and many close friends and neighbors. Dean had a special way with all those he met, young and old alike.

Survived by his wife, Mattie; children, Deanna Jean; Dean C. II and wife Daphne; and his grandson, Dean C. III (Colt) with whom he had a very special relationship.

Preceded in death by a son, William Dean (deceased December 28, 1954); parents; brothers and sisters, Berdeen Martin, Clifford Martin, Fern Moncur, Mac Martin, Jack Martin.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 1994 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 1994 at 10 a.m. at the Salt Lake Olympus Stake Center, 2700 East 4500 South, where friends may call from 9-10 a.m. prior to the funeral service.

Interment will be upon arrival at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley, Idaho at approximately 2 p.m.
