Howard Thomas Russell, age 72, died October 3, 1994 in West Jordan, after a courageous battle with emphysema.

Born March 23, 1922 in Salt Lake City, to Thomas Henry and Martha Rutishauser Russell. Married Betty McLeod Cornia, February 1, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Retyired from U.S. Post Office. A great fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed watching football. Loved Big Band music. Veteran of the Navy, serving in the Seabees in the New Guinea and Philippines.Survived by wife; children, Carolyn Boswell (Gary), Kathy Glenn (Robert), Linda Keough and Warren Hyer, John Russell (Vivian); grandchildren, Lisa Koncar, Nick Koncar, Nancie Hancock, Shaunie Landers, Maria Koncar, David Koncar, Nancie Hancock, Shaunie Landers, Maria Koncar, David Koncar, Robert Glenn, Erin Keough, Crystal Glenn; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon Russell; and his cat, Misty.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, October 6, 1994 in 11 a.m. at the Murray City Cemetery. Family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Humane Society. Funeral directors Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
