Ruth Adele Michelsen, age 80, passed away at her home on November 10, 1994 from causes incident to age.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 23, 1914 to Vera Stewart and William Henry Swertfager. She was also loved by her stepfather, Ernest Hal Morgan. She married Louis Winslow Michelsen, January 22, 1935 in Evanston, Wyoming. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in June of the same year. She attended the University of Utah. As a member of Forest Dale Ward for nearly 60 years, she taught Relief Society, Sunday School and was a good friend and neighbor. An avid reader, she also had a passion for the arts.She worked as a switchboard operator at the Phone Company, Walker Bank and Anserphone. She also worked at Lifelike Hair for Men and later owned her own business dying men's hairpieces. She was loved by all-especially her 11 grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lou Arveseth and husband, Allan, Salt Lake City; four sons, David Hal Michelsen, Yorba Linda, Calif.; Paul Louis Michelsen, Mark Winslow Michelsen and wife, Shirley, and John Stewart Michelsen and wife, Susan, all Salt Lake City; two sisters, Marion A. Panaretos, Hillsborough, Calif.; Betty Jensen, Provo, Utah; and a brother, John William Morgan and wife, Jacqueline, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Ruth Adele.
The family expresses grateful appreciation to the Gray, Montesimos, and Alcazar families for their loving care.
Graveside services will be 12 noon Monday, November 14, 1994 in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Northmont Section), 3401 So. Highland Drive. Funeral Directors, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
