Two men who were members of the Utah State University football team when the crime occurred were served summonses Monday for the Sept. 27 theft of beer and for assaulting a clerk at a Logan 7-Eleven store.

Jorge Munoz, 20, of Spring Valley, Calif., and Scott Moore, 19, Hermosa Beach, Calif., face charges of theft, a third-degree felony, and assault, a class B misdemeanor.Utah State coach Charlie Weatherbie suspended the players immediately after learning of the incident, prior to the game at BYU Sept. 30, in accordance with team policy. Munoz, a junior-college transfer third-string quarterback, quit the team the following week and was granted a release from his scholarship. Moore, a redshirt freshman wide receiver, has not practiced with the team since the incident and will be allowed back only if the incident is resolved, said media relations director John Lewandoswki.
