The Garkane Power Association is giving a Christmas gift to communities in its consumer area of southern Utah and northern Arizona.

General Manager Carl R. Albrecht said Garkane won't charge the towns and cities for electricity used for decorative Christmas lighting. Those who need help in erecting lights can also contact the cooperative for assistance from its employees. The free service will begin Nov. 23 and extend through Jan. 3, 1995 Albrecht said. It will be provided daily from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Garkane provides service in Utah in Wayne, Garfield, Piute, Sevier, Washington, Iron and Kane counties. It also distributes power in the northern Arizona counties of Mohave and Coconino.
