John Anthony Butkovich, age 73, died November 25, 1994 in Price, Utah.

Born May 31, 1921 in Walsenburg, Colorado, the son of John and Frances Ferkovich Butkovich. Married Florence Perri March 2, 1942 in Fruita, Colorado. Member of the Catholic Church. Served U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division in Europe, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Resident of Carbon County since 1939. Member, Price Elk's Lodge #1550. Worked in various coal mines prior to owning and operating John's Auto Repair and Radiator Shop. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.Survived by wife, Florence Butkovich, Price; daughter, Francis Hicks, of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; sons, John M. and his wife, Vicky Butkovich, Price; Stephen A. and his wife, Jackie Butkovich, of Price; grandchildren, Sheri, Glyn, Susan and Gary Hicks, Frank and Michele Butkovich, Tracy and John Butkovich, great-grandchildren, Chelsen and Simon Hicks, Shayne and Erika Butkovich, two brothers, three sisters, Albert Shubert, Santa Ana, Calif.; Rudy Shubert, Durango, Colorado; Ann Sudar, Walsenburg, Colorado; Eleanor Yakovich, Roosevelt, Utah; Irene Wilcox, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by son, Frank Robert.

Funeral Mass Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1994, 10 a.m. Notre Dame De Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service Monday 7 p.m., Mitchell Chapel. Committal service, Mtn. View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to Notre Dame Church or Notre Dame School, Price.
