Greg Kite, who sustained a mild concussion last month and did not play in his team's first seven exhibition games, was waived Wednesday by the Orlando Magic.

Kite, 33, who played his college ball at Brigham Young University, was in his fourth season with the team. The 6-foot-11 frontliner averaged 3 points and 5.1 rebounds during his stay with the Magic."We are sorry to say goodbye to Greg," Magic vice president John Gabriel said. "But we are not quick to forget that he anchored the center position for us in our early years in the league."

Last season, Kite averaged 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 points per game. He was placed on the injured list in January with a muscle tear in his right calf. He missed a total of 52 games because of the injury.
