Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, Jeanine Peterson died December 12, 1994 in an automobile accident.
Jeanine was born July 3, 1938 to Ernest Read and Golda Purser Croxford in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald H. (Jerry) Peterson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, June 16, 1961, following a seven year courtship.She attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from Olympus High School. Jeanine received a degree in elementary education from the University of Utah where she also affiliated with the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She had returned to teaching school for the past few years and taught 3rd grade at Webster Elementary School. Jeanine was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many positions of leadership, teaching and service throughout her life.
Her family was the center of her life and she was the focal point of happiness for all of us who loved her so. She truly viewed life from the positive side. Jeanine gave of herself continuously to all around her and loved her students as if they were her own.
Jeanine is survived by her father; husband; her five children, Steven Peterson (Holly); Shauna Hoj (Peter); Debbie Campbell (Paul); Angie Peterson; Karin Peterson; her grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor, Annie and Jane; her sisters, Dixie Murphy (Mel); Gayla Stauffer (Buz); Jan Armijo (Johnny); and Sheri Sorensen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Olympus Stake Center, 2675 East 4430 South. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Stake Center, Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
