Arthur Edward Phippen, age 86, passed away December 11, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born October 18, 1908 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Edward Bert and Lizzie Atkinson Phippen. Married Virginia Marie Coulam August 28, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death February 1, 1994. Active member of the LDS Church. Served in two bishoprics, the High Council, and as a stake missionary. He also served as Young Men's president, and received the Master M-Men award. Retired as a civilian employee from Hill Air Force Base after 30 years, where he was recognized for his meticulous and efficient work. He was an exceptionally kind person and unselfish in his service to his family and friends. He spent numerous hours in helping with remodeling and fix-it-up projects.Survived by sons, Donald C. and his wife, Vickie of Midvale, Utah, and John W. and his wife, Ivie, of Holladay, Utah; daughter, Carol and her husband, Jay Bodine of Ft. Collins, Colorado; sister, Dora Gygi of Salt Lake City, Utah; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 1994, 11 a.m., at the Crystal Heights 1st Ward, 1970 East Stratford Ave. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the ward. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
