Alice Hatch Casteel Hickman, our special Valentine, loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on 14 February 1994, which was a tribute to her because she had the world's biggest heart.
She was always thinking of others, giving totally of herself. She never expected anything in return. How do we all say "thank you" for all the love she gave so openly?Alice was born August 14, 1925 to Bert and Susana Hatch in Tremonton, Utah. She married Edria Casteel, who preceded her in death in September 1968. She married James B. Hickman on September 1, 1971. Thy were totally dedicated to each other.
Alice retired from Tooele Army Depot and was presently a door greeter at Wal-Mart, which she enjoyed dearly. She was a member of the Tooele Methodist Church.
She was an active member of the Women of the Moose and held several positions including Senior Regent. She was a member of the Tooele Eagles Ladies' Auxiliary.
Alice is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Gene (Linda) Casteel, and Jim (Rae Jean) Casteel; stepchildren, Sheri (Bob) Perkins, Karen (Gene) Eisenbrandt, Doug (Connie) Hickman, Cristy (Mike) McGovern, Michael Hickman, and Peggy Hickman; special sister, Millie Long; brothers, Adelbert, Dick Hatch, and Quinten Hatch; and sister, Myra Fellows. Special brother-in-law, Gene (Romayne) Phipps; and 15 grandchildren, who were each very special to her.
She is preceded in death by her son, Jed Casteel; her parents; brothers, Phil and Kermit; sisters, Beth and Helen; and granddaughter, Trina Perkins, and great-granddaughter, Kyndra Casteel; daughter-in-law, Teresa Montoya Hickman.
Funeral services will be held at Tate Mortuary Chapel, Friday, February 18, 1994, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior on Friday. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
