Our dear father, grandfather, brother and friend, William Duard Hardy, passed away Sunday, January 30, 1994 in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Born November 12, 1904 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of William Collins and Clara Ellis Hardy. Married Afton Howard, August 10, 1925 in Evanston, Wyoming. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. His happy countenance and friendly smile will be greatly missed by those he left behind.Among the many callings of a life of service in the LDS church were: Branch Presidency in Denver, Colorado and Omaha, Nebraska; bishopric in Chicago; 1st Stake President in the Winter Quarters Stake, Omaha; special two year mission to England with his wife Afton; Stake Patriarch; temple worker and supervisor on Temple Square for 14 years.

He is survived by his wife, Afton; four children and their spouses: Joyce Greenhalgh, West Valley, Utah; Merrill and Syd Hardy, Fort Collins, Colo.; Darwin and Jeanette Hardy, Corona, Calif.; Carma Jean and Gary Yancey, Portland, Oregon; 24 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and five great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rose Park 6th Ward, 1155 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 and Saturday at the church from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
