Fourteen Utah educators lost their certification through revocation or suspension during the 1992-93 school year, a report of the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission shows.

Eight certificates were revoked and six suspended. Another five educators were reprimanded and one was given a warning. The commission considered 16 cases in which the complaints were dismissed or withdrawn or on which no action was taken, the report said.Thirteen cases were initiated because of sex-related offenses involving a child; nine for sex offenses not involving children; eight for drug offenses and 14 for unprofessional conduct. The state has 22,000 educators.
