Q. It seems every time I watch a show that I get excited about - poof! - it goes off the air. It happened a year or two ago with "Dangerous Women," and the latest one is "Second Chances," with Connie Sellecca. What happened to it?
A: The show's set was severely damaged in the Los Angeles earthquake, and, says a CBS representative, the producers and the network continue in negotiations about the show's future. "It's not a dead issue" for now, says the official. If you like to encourage CBS to bring the show back, write to Jeff Sagansky, President, CBS Entertainment, 51 W. 52nd Street, N.Y., N.Y. 10019.Q. What is the name of the actor in the wheelchair who plays one of the lead roles in NBC's "Viper?" What other shows has he been on? Is he in real life?
A. You've seen Dorian Harewood, who in real life does not use a wheelchair, in "I'll Fly Away," "Trials of Rosie O'Neill," "Strike Force," "Trauma Center" and "Glitter," as well as in made-for-TV movies and guest roles dating to 1975.
Q. I am a concerned fan of Jodie Sweetin of "Full House." I heard she died in a car accident, where she broke her neck. Is it true?
A. No. Sweetin's non-death is the latest rumor, replacing one about Mark-Paul Gosselaar of "Saved By The Bell: The College Years."
Q. Is Lloyd Haynes, who played the teacher on "Room 222," still acting?
A. Haynes died in 1986 at 52. He finished his career on the soap opera "General Hospital."
Q. I think "Love & War" is a much better show with Annie Potts than with Susan Dey. Can you tell me a little about her?
A. Potts was born in Nashville, Tenn., and grew up in Franklin, Ky. She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., where she majored in drama. A car accident, in which she broke both legs, delayed her career, but once she recovered and moved to Los Angeles, she began appearing in theater productions. She appeared in a play with actor Roddy McDowall, who, she says, helped her get into feature films like "Corvette Summer," "Ghostbusters" and "Texasville." Her big break came with landing the role of Mary Jo on "Designing Women," which premiered Sept. 29, 1986. Potts is active in several charity causes.
