USU HAS NEW PHONE SYSTEM AND NEW 3-DIGIT PREFIX: 797

A new telephone system has been installed at Utah State University creating a new three digit prefix for most USU phones.

The new prefix is 797. The last four digits will be the same for most university numbers, according to Scott Bradley, director of telecommunications and telephone services for the university."A few telephone numbers will be completely different," Bradley said. "In those cases a university operator will assist the caller with the correct telephone number."

The university operator can be reached at 797-1000.

Campus housing phone numbers will remain the same until August. Bradley said campus housing will not convert to the new phone system until the end of August 1994.
